• • Can I drive a truck on my car licence?

    Most of our trucks can be driven with a full car licence. We also have trucks that require a Class 2 licence and those will be marked as a Class 2 licence trucks on this website.

• • Do you charge for mileage on truck hires?

    We provide flexible options to suit your purpose. For smaller trips, we offer per km options, which include a lower base hire rate and a charge per km (The charge vary from $0.55 to $0.59 per kms travelled – When booking your truck using this website, you will be shown the mileage fee according to truck model). We also offer competitive unlimited km rates, better suited for longer trips, especially out of town. If you need assistance in selecting which option best suits your needs, our friendly team will be happy to help!

• • What is the load capacity of your trucks?

    The load capacity on our trucks goes from 1100kg to 2560kg. Please check with our team if you require a truck with a specific load capacity

• • What is the difference between a Tail-Lift Truck and a normal one?

    A tail-lift truck has a hydraulic platform at the back, making loading of heavy items easier. This can also conveniently double as a step, making for easy access into and out of the truck.

    

• • What is the difference between your normal trucks vs the Super Saver one?

    Our Truck Super Saver fleet consists of older trucks that are still mechanically sound. We recommend those for local inner city jobs and not for long trips.

• • Can I drive a truck on a Restricted Licence?

    Unfortunately, we don’t rent vehicles on a Restricted Licence.

• • What is the driver licence requirement for a truck hire?

    We rent to anyone over 18 years old who holds a current, full driver’s licence. Restricted licences are not accepted.

• • Do I need a special class licence to drive a Hireace truck?

    No. A special class licence is not required to drive Hireace trucks.

• • Do I need to show my licence when I collect my truck hire?

    Yes. You must present your licence upon collection of your vehicle. Copies or screenshots are not accepted. For digital licences, you must be able to display it in the official licensing app.

  • Can I do a one-way truck hire between cities?

    Yes. We offer one-way hires to and from our branches in Queenstown, Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Tauranga and Wellington. We also offer one-ways to Blenheim, Timaru, Dunedin, Gore and Invercargill. One-way hires a subjected to availability.

  • Can I hire a truck same-day or last minute?

    Yes. We offer same-day hires and those a subject to availability
